Pam and Marco Esteves are the partnership behind Azores Stables. Marco builds the foundation through a considered Lusitano breeding program. Pam develops those horses — and the riders who partner with them — into performance-ready teams.
The result is a program where breeding, training and competition work under one vision, grounded in sport ethics, classical principles and Lusitano tradition. From the pastures of Oro-Medonte, Ontario, Azores carries the heart of Portugal.

Pam Esteves was named to Team Canada for the 2026 WAWE Working Equitation World Championships in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain — the home of classical Iberian horsemanship.
Travelling with the Canadian team to Jerez brought the Azores program into the heart of international Working Equitation: alongside the world's best riders, horses and coaches, and immersed in the tradition our program is built on.
That experience now comes home to every Azores rider — in the standards we train to, the preparation we teach and the way we build horse and rider for the ring.
Pam Esteves
Team Canada · Working Equitation · Classical DressagePam brings international Working Equitation experience to every horse and rider she develops. She was named to Team Canada for the 2026 WAWE Working Equitation World Championships in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, and has trained with some of the most accomplished names in the sport, including World and European champions Pedro Torres and Gilberto Filipe.
Alongside Working Equitation, Pam trains and competes on the dressage circuit. She works regularly with Joanne White, an Equestrian Canada HP1 High Performance Coach, EC Senior National Judge and USEF "S" Judge, and next season she will bring Azores' young stallions into the dressage series.
Pam is known for a gentle, thoughtful approach to training, built on communication, connection, clarity and patience. Her program gives horses and riders the time and understanding to develop a true partnership.

Marco Esteves
Coudelaria AzoresMarco is the guiding force behind the Azores breeding program. With a sharp eye for bloodlines and a hands-on role in the studbook, he oversees everything from stallion selection and mare matching to the development of young horses.
Marco brought Lusitano stallions of the calibre of Poison CM to Azores. He combines sound breeding principles with years of horsemanship to produce horses that excel in form, temperament and performance.
